Everything you need to know before your visit
We want your appointment with Dr Karthik Kumar to be as smooth and comfortable as possible. Please read the information below so you come fully prepared and can make the most of your consultation time.
A valid referral from your GP or specialist is required for Medicare rebates. If you have not yet organised a referral, please contact your GP before booking.
Preparing for Your Visit
Please bring the following items to your appointment
Medicare, DVA & Pension Cards
Please bring your Medicare card and, if applicable, your DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) card and Pension card. These are required for billing and Medicare rebate eligibility.
Referral Letter
A valid referral from your GP or specialist is required for Medicare rebates and continuity of care. If your referrer sent it directly, please confirm with our rooms before your appointment.
All Current Medications
Bring a complete list of ALL medications — prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and supplements. This helps Dr Kumar check for interactions and tailor your care plan safely.
Recent Blood Tests & Imaging
If your GP has ordered recent blood tests, urinalysis, or imaging reports, please bring those results or ensure they have been forwarded to us. Dr Kumar may arrange new investigations if needed.
Past Health Records & Discharge Summaries
Any relevant past health records, specialist letters, or hospital discharge summaries help Dr Kumar understand your full history and provide the most appropriate care from your very first visit.
Your Questions for Dr Kumar
It is very common to forget what you wanted to ask during a consultation. Write down a list of questions or concerns beforehand so you get the very most from your appointment time.
Arrive 10–15 minutes early. Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, or smoking before your visit, as these can affect blood pressure readings.
Please try to stay relaxed before your appointment. A calm mind and body make the consultation more comfortable and accurate. For the comfort of all visitors, our premises are strictly non-smoking. If you are running late, please call us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
