A nephrologist committed to exceptional kidney care
Dr. Karthik Kumar is a nephrologist with nearly 25 years of specialist experience in nephrology, dialysis, and transplantation. Trained at PGIMER—one of India’s most prestigious institutions—and later at Westmead Hospital, he brings global expertise to community-centered kidney care on the Central Coast and in Sydney.
He currently serves as a Senior Nephrologist within the Central Coast Local Health District, holding admitting and consulting rights at Gosford Public, Gosford Private, Wyong, and Sydney Adventist Hospitals. Dr. Kumar is also an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA).

Coming from a family of engineers, doctors, and aerospace professionals, Dr Kumar was drawn to nephrology by a desire to deliver cost-effective, pragmatic, and patient-centred care. Since establishing Gosford Nephrology in 2010, he has served the Central Coast and Sydney communities with dedication and integrity.
